Commercial Blenders: the ultimate multi-purpose kitchen equipment

For bars, restaurants, cafes and other food service establishments a high performance, durable commercial blender is one of the most efficient and useful pieces of commercial kitchen equipment. High profit-margin drinks, soups, sauces, salsa – even bread dough – can all be prepared in a snap using a quality commercial blender.

Types of blenders

  • Countertop multifunction blenders: combines the functionality of a blender and a food processor. Multifunction blenders are designed to be versatile, providing the power to whip up smoothies, blend drinks, grind peanut butter, whip up soft-serve ice cream and more.
  • Handheld or immersion blenders: features a long neck with the blades at the end, allowing you to puree food like vegetable soups and sauces right in the cooking vessel.

What to look for in a commercial blender:

Variable speeds. These allow you to chop, grind or blend different ingredients at exactly the right speed without over heating.

Wattage.  Generally the higher the wattage the better the performance from the blender.

Type of controls. There are a variety of control options, ranging from touch pads to raised buttons, dials or flip switches. Each has its benefits depending on your preference and usage. For example, touch pads are generally easier to clean but can cost more.

Durability. How often will the blender be used and what will it be used for?  Before you buy look into the brand’s reputation for durability for the tasks it needs to perform. If its main task will be to mix frozen drinks you need a machine with the power and performance to crush ice without wearing out.

Accessories.  What tasks do you want the blender to perform? Know what tasks you are going to perform with your blender then make sure that the blender provides the proper accessories.

Capacity.  What capacity do you need? Make sure your blender is big enough to efficiently handle the size of the blending job.

Warrantee.  Don’t forget the warrantee. Check the fine print. What does it cover and how long does the warrantee last?
